The problem we solved

Every serious payments company hits the same wall: wallets.

You can build the most elegant payment flow, the smartest routing logic, or the fastest settlement system — but if your wallet infrastructure can't handle real-time signing, policy enforcement, and regulatory compliance at scale, your payments don't work.

We learned this the hard way at Ripple, building systems that moved billions in cross-border payments. The wallet layer was always the bottleneck. Always the weakest link. Always the thing that broke first under real-world pressure.

Why existing solutions don't work for payments

“Traditional” custody and wallet providers built for treasury managers and traders, not payment processors. They optimised for storing assets safely, not moving money fast.

Generic MPC solutions treat every transaction the same. But payments are different — they need millisecond response times, complex policy enforcement, and bulletproof compliance workflows.

Web3 wallet infrastructure assumes technical users. But payments serve everyone — your grandmother sending money overseas shouldn't need to understand seed phrases.

What we built

Palisade is the wallet infrastructure layer for companies that move money.

We built a purpose-designed MPC-TSS protocol that signs transactions in under 100 milliseconds — not the 5-30+ seconds you get with “other“ solutions. Our policy engine enforces complex approval workflows in real-time. Our compliance integrations handle KYT and Travel Rule automatically.

Most importantly, we designed every component around one question: "Does this make payments faster, safer, or simpler?"

Why this matters

Digital money is the future of payments. Stablecoins already move hundreds of billions annually. Cross-border payments are being rebuilt on blockchain rails and institutions and enterprises are launching stablecoins at scale.

But this future only works if the infrastructure is invisible to end users. Your customers don't care about private keys or blockchain — they want their payments to work.

Tom has two decades of experience building and scaling enterprise systems at companies such as BT, Apple, and Ripple, where he played a critical role in scaling payment systems from $1 to over $1 billion daily in cross-border flows.

Manthan architected secure financial systems at Capital One, Ripple, and Ava Labs, always focused on making security seamless for real users.
